A new paper by Avraham Russell Shalev warns that Israel must take concrete steps against the ICJ’s politicization of its jurisdiction. In a series of decisions, the ICJ has allowed states to abuse treaties, thereby involving the Court in every diplomatic and political dispute imaginable. The Court has cooperated with Palestinian lawfare strategy and allowed the abuse of the Genocide Convention against Israeli victims of genocide. This must prompt Israel to re-evaluate its relationship with the ICJ.
